German troops held a farewell parade before their deployment to Lithuania, in Oberviechtach on Thursday. "Panzergrenadierbataillon 122" is departing to Lithuania as part of the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence in the country. Around 500 soldiers participated in the ceremony of which 450 will be going to Lithuania along with armoured vehicles. NATO's deployment in Lithuania will be led by Germany, featuring the 350 soldiers, who will work together with troops from Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway, comprising a deployment of a total of around 1,000 soldiers. The battalion will stay in Lithuania from February until July.
